| >> Editorial |
More than ever, Reims Management School (RMS) is continuing its development, currently welcoming more than 3,600 students, 900 of whom are foreigners, in its "Grande Ecole" program and in its three post baccalaureate management schools: SUP’TG, CESEM and TEMA. It also welcomes an increasing number of students in its Specialized Masters and two MBA programs.
In order to maintain itself in France’s Top Ten Management Schools and in the top 26 at the European level, RMS has just launched a new strategic five year plan called "Energies 2014" which will be based on the "customized" approach initiated 15 years ago within the Sup de Co program.
In order to maintain the place the school deserves in a globalized and competitive environment, RMS needs to have a strong and innovative research policy enabling it to attract the best professor-researchers and students from around the world.
You can personally help the school to rise up to the challenge, by supporting the RMS Foundation, created a little more than one year ago under the aegis of the "Fondation de France" with a threefold vocation, financing some fifty scholarships per annum, supporting innovating research and teaching programs and increasing the school’s resources.
I strongly encourage you in this end of year period to participate actively in the financing of these actions.
Yours sincerely
François Bonvalet
Reims Management School Dean
Member of the Executive Committee of the Reims Management School Foundation

>> Focus on one of our donors:
Eric Le Jaouen,
Sup de Co 1994 |
Why did you choose to support the RMS Foundation?
Having noticed during my studies the significant contrast between the means available at universities and those at Sup de Co Reims, I realized that quality pedagogical means (the ratio teachers/ students, multi-media rooms, library) require the financial participation of students in the form of tuition fees.
In parallel, too many students do not apply for business and management schools for financial reasons whereas their school performance would enable them to follow such studies successfully. The action of the RMS foundation in favor of awarding scholarships to students whose academic levels and study paths are interesting is a good means to partly overcome this financial hurdle. It therefore deserves to be supported and I hope it will be possible to increase the number of scholarships year after year.
What particular action of the Foundation appeals to you?
Beyond awarding scholarships, I have also noticed that one of the projects of the foundation is the creation of a chair in the management of non-profit organizations and social management. Personally, I have become increasingly aware, in the last few years, of the importance and the richness of community life for sport, culture or social issues. Associations are also non negligible players economically and socially speaking. It is thus important to offer relevant training to the people who manage these structures. This type of specialized training will help RMS to distinguish itself from its competitors.
What would you say to future donors?
In addition to the financial contribution to the development and to the value of RMS diplomas through the annual contribution to RMS Network, providing support to the RMS foundation provides a plus to RMS in terms of originality and solidarity. The school has been able to retain its place in the rankings of business schools whereas competition has become increasingly acute. The support of the alumni network must therefore not slacken.

| >>Testimony from one recipient of RMS Foundation scholarships |
Interview with
Alexandra Le Landais
recipient of a Sup de Co scholarship 2007
What is your background?
I come from Argenteuil a Paris suburb. I grew up there with 8 brothers and sisters. After a Baccalaureate in Economics and Social Sciences, I was accepted in a preparation class in Paris. During the two years I spent in this preparation class I worked to provide for my needs, at Mc Donald’s, in a bank, and at Total.
I then chose to join Reims Management School, in particular because of the possibilities of doing an apprenticeship offered by the school.
What has the RMS Foundation scholarship done for you?
The Foundation grant, the amount of which is quite substantial has enabled me to continue studying with serenity. Indeed, my parents cannot afford to help me financially. It has enabled me to top up another grant which I had obtained but did not cover all my needs.
What are your professional projects?
I am currently an apprentice at Natexis Asset Management, within the communications department. I wish to continue in this field of activity. I am interested in event organization in particular.
In the long run, I would like to create my own company.
What message would you like to pass on to potential donors of the Foundation?
Beyond the very impersonal gesture of making a donation, I would like to tell all the donors that their support is crucial for students in need and that I will always be grateful to them. I wish to thank them once more and encourage them to continue in this direction.
