The Chair in Management of Non Profit Organizations and Social Business develops a new partnership.
In the course of its development, the Chair has forged close links with the community movement, through for example the Voluntary Work Day for the Sup de Co students, the Employment Forum held in March 2009 or multiple practical cases and research articles.
Associations are currently faced with many questions concerning such areas as finance and accounting as well as governance, fund raising and communication.
It is within this framework that the Red Cross and the Chair have decided to set up a real partnership. The Red Cross having already worked with RMS on many projects (Voluntary Work Day, youth team, participation in lectures) the idea is to formalize this participation and especially to go much further.
The Chair is an attractive partner which can contribute its expertise and “professional” vision to an association.
The Red Cross performs many activities of public interest (first aid, social action, international action, health, and training) through its local and regional delegations.
It is a perpetually changing association which constantly calls itself into question and seeks innovation.
This partnership comes within the scope of the Chair’s philosophy of progression and will enable it to acquire a larger and more visible dimension.

The foundation has entered its third year of existence and has ambitious objectives. In a tense economic period and with the debate over the place of grant holders in French “Grandes Ecoles”, the dozens of grants offered to RMS students via the foundation fit into a philosophy of genuine social diversity within the RMS group. These grants are strong evidence of the intergenerational mutual assistance made possible by your donations.
If the alumni association has been involved in the Foundation from the outset, being one of the three founders with PricewaterhouseCoopers and the Credit Agricole Nord Est, tribes can also be collective donors. Thus the 1959 class and the London Club have made collective donations to the Foundation. An example to be followed!
Individual alumni donations have increased fivefold since 2009 compared with 2008, proof of the growing commitment of alumni to the foundation. Your donations not only contribute to the attribution of grants but also to finance the other projects of the foundation among which the research chairs rank first.
An excellent example of this is the Chair in Management of Non Profit Organizations and Social Business. The Chair has entered its second year of full activity and has been developing it actions with a large number of projects focusing on research, pedagogy and publications.
I count on your commitment to the RMS Foundation, which by diversifying the sources of funds for our school enables it to re-enforce its means so as to remain among the front runners in the international competition between Business Schools.

Inès Marion SANCHEZ, Sup de Co 94
Why have you chosen to support the RMS Foundation?
Amidst the controversy over grant holder quotas in “Grandes Ecoles” the approach of the Foundation struck me as being a fair option. Motivated, competent students with projects and dreams and who have successfully passed competitive examination should not have to give up studying for financial reasons. One of the strengths of the school lies in the diversity of its graduates. To support the Foundation thus also means enabling the school to differentiate itself.
Which of the actions of the Foundation do you take most to heart?
Helping grant holders is what is most important to me. If, in many cases, tuition fees can be covered by parents or bank loans (which require parents to stand as guarantors), the situation is much more complicated for grant holders. I do not think one is really available to devote time and thought to studies when one has cope with basic financial problems. To my mind, helping a grant holder, means granting him the peace of mind necessary to follow lectures in the lecture hall, commit himself in the school’s community life and associations, choose internships not only on the basis of remuneration criteria, but also according to a logic of professional development.
What would you say to future donors?
Read the testimonials of grant holders and recall you own student days: with just a small gesture you can allow others to benefit the way you did. And for the most rational minds, I would add that your donation entitles you to a tax rebate. |

Interview of
Ludger Weilhart
Sup de Co 2nd Year
a foundation grant beneficiary
What is your background?
My study path has been rather atypical. After a literary baccalaureate, I spent two years preparing the competitive entrance examination to the Ecole Normale Supérieure d’Ulm.
Having successfully passed the entrance examinations to several graduate business schools, I decided to Join Sup de Co Reims. I chose this school for its reputation and also because of the possibility to join the apprenticeship scheme offered, which represents an excellent opportunity to enter the work world while financing one’s higher education.
What have been the benefits of the Foundation grant?
I am the second of three children. Since my parents separated, my mother who recently retired from the Civil Service has borne alone the responsibility of the family. The grant considerably helped me finance my first year at RMS.
What are your professional projects?
After graduating, I would like to work in asset management. I also plan to subsequently complement my training with a post graduate in Economic intelligence.
What message would you like to convey to the Foundation’s future donors?
Making a donation to the RMS Foundation is not just signing a check. Beyond this gesture, there is a motivated and deserving person who is given the means to succeed.
Education is the most profitable investment possible, and grant holders are in the best position to know this! It is obvious that we won’t forget and will in turn help those who need it.
My family and I wish to express wholehearted thanks for the help you gave us.
