photo The selectivity of a « Grande Ecole » is only conceivable when it is linked to the talents and merits of its students, irrespective of financial criteria.

In line with its strong values of openness and diversity, RMS launched, almost three years ago, the RMS foundation whose first objective was to enable bright and deserving students who face financial difficulties to study serenely at the school.

The balance sheet for the first three years of the foundation is positive: €1.7million have been collected thus making it possible to finance136 excellence grants and also to launch the Chair in Management of Non Profit Organizations and Social Business.

Continuing this momentum, the foundation is launching its 2010-2012 development campaign, whose main objective is to raise €2.5m by the end of 2012. These funds will enable it to finance 50 grants per year, to encourage research in line with the key challenges facing companies, and to improve the equipment and pedagogical framework of the school, encouraging the renovation and extension of the premises.

To carry out these actions successfully, in the logic of an increasingly citizen-oriented environment, we need your support.

RMS graduates, we ask you to commit yourselves by showing solidarity towards the younger generations! Company leaders, deciders please invest in our school!

>> RMS art competition

photo
When the auction sale of the works of art of art produced within the framework of the RMS Art competition, took place on April 28th 2010, the award winners accepted that 40% of the proceeds should be paid back to the Foundation.

The funds collected amounted to €592.

>> Annual fund-raising day

photo
On May 18th, Reims Management School students mobilized for a second day of fund raising for the Foundation on both campuses.

Amount collected: €1,400

>> TEMA auction sale in aid of the foundation

About thirty people participated in the auction sale of TEMA student paintings, photopainted within the framework of the TemArt activity, which was organized at the school on May 20th 2010.
100% of the proceeds of the sale were paid back to the foundation.

Amount collected: €1,225

Overall, these three events enabled us
to raise €3,217,
that is to say the equivalent of
two foundation grants in aid of
bright deserving students
facing difficulties financing their school fees.

>> Focus on a donor
Sandrine DUHAU, Sup de Co 88

photo Why have you chosen to support the RMS Foundation?
A sup de co Alumna, I enjoyed the quality of life on campus, but in retrospect, what I remember most today is the acquisition of technical and human know-how. This knowledge is durably useful in one’s professional life.
Supporting the RMS Foundation means re-enforcing the altruistic dimension of the RMS group. This will contribute to add to the dynamism and competence of RMS students entering the work market and their training will be all the better recognized.

Which of the actions of the Foundation do you take most to heart?
The awarding of grants: the access of bright students to high level training should not be limited by financial considerations.

What would you say to future donors?
Their donations are essential for the promotion of the RMS group as a whole.
Implementing modern teaching that meets the requirements of globalization, for the development of tomorrow’s management, management that is more human and better balanced; these are ambitious objectives that demand ever more resources.
>>Testimony from one recipient of RMS Foundation scholarships
photoInterview of
Vincent Mirabella
5th Year Tema student
beneficiary of
2 foundation grants

What is your background?
I joined TEMA in 2005. At that time, I was nowhere near having a precise idea concerning my professional project. But, what I was sure of was that the double competence in technology and management offered by TEMA met my expectations and was well suited to my personality.
My training within TEMA has enabled me to have diverse experiences that have greatly contributed to my personal as well as educational fulfillment.

What have been the benefits of the Foundation grant?
My parents’ limited financial resources compelled me right from start to appeal to banks to finance my tuition fees. When I was in the 3rd year my parents’ financial situation greatly deteriorated for various reasons and I had to manage on my own. While still relying on banks, I combined a number of small student jobs to cover my living costs. Finally, having reached a point where this was not enough, I turned to other solutions and it was in this context that I got in touch with the RMS Foundation. I was awarded 2 grants which have enabled me to complete this 5 year program while reducing the impact of student jobs on my academic results. The exchange with “Ecole Centrale” Paris and the resulting costs of living would not have been possible without the help of the Foundation.

What are your professional projects?
My training and the diverse experiences I have had have re-enforced my conviction that managers who have been trained in innovation management and who have a double competence in technology and management offer true added value to a firm.
In a first stage, I wish to work in France in firms having to do with new technologies, or even in centers of innovation. This would enable me to acquire more experience and methodology before I go and work abroad.

What message would you like to convey to the Foundation’s future donors?
The support I obtained from the foundation was decisive in helping me complete the TEMA program. I measure this all the better as I am about to enter professional life. However, my experience is only one among many. A certain number of students have also benefited from grants in the last few years and I hope there will be more of them in the coming years, since there most certainly is a need out there. Each donation contributes to the existence and action of the RMS Foundation. Beyond the financial support for us students, it is also a strong gesture which encourages us to cope with the situations we confront with more serenity.
